ReviewGet ready for a book filled with lots of cuteness!
The Replacement Crush is about Vivian trying to get over a hot guy who she had a fling with during the summer by finding a safer guy to crush on. That's where Dallas walks in. Dallas is a nerd hot Trekkie who just moved to town and is working at Vivian's mother's bookstore. However, Dallas always see Vivian at the wrong time which leads her to want nothing to do with him. But, of course, she can't deny her attraction and there's a lot of cuteness and fluff throughout.
As far as contemporaries go, the story was pretty generic but it wasn't necessarily bad. Vivian is a very fun and refreshing character to read about. She is really relatable when it comes to guys and also, she's a BOOK BLOGGER which I love! She has a big obsession with books and prefers fictional characters to real people. She is all around an amazing character that I have read about.
One of my favorite aspects were her reviews. Vivian prefers to read romance novels instead of the mystery novels that her mother typically writes. They were really entertaining to read and Viv fangirling about fictional boys is so me!
The nerd-hot Dallas is also a refreshing love interest to read about. With a knack for computers and looks just as great as his brains, who wouldn't fall for him.
All in all, The Replacement Crush is a pretty cute and fluffy book to read. There is a lot of geeky and funny moment that hit you with all the feels and I would recommend it for those who really enjoy slow burning romances with a really light storyline.
About the Author
Lisa Brown Roberts still hasn't recovered from the teenage trauma of nearly tweezing off both eyebrows and having to pencil them in for an entire school year. This and other angst-filled memories inspire her to write YA books about navigating life's painful and funny dramas, and falling in love along the way.
Her almost forever home is Colorado, though she occasionally pines for the days when she lived within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean. Her house is full of books, boys, four-legged prima donnas, and lots of laughter.
